Dr. Babak Hooshmand received his medical degree from Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in Tehran, Iran. He completed his Internal Medicine residency and Infectious Disease fellowship at Ascension St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan.

Before specializing in Infectious Disease, Dr. Hooshmand gained valuable experience working as a hospitalist. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease.

Dr. Hooshmand is the founder of Apex Infectious Disease of Nevada, a practice dedicated to providing comprehensive infectious disease care to the Las Vegas community. The group serves the majority of hospitals, long-term acute care facilities (LTACs), and rehabilitation centers in the region, as well as a clinic specializing in general infectious diseases, HIV, and viral hepatitis.
